Dementia Care

Ours staff at ASK Care are trained to support clients throughout all stages of Dementia.

We ensure to provide the same care staff  to ensure client familiarity and the sense of security, especially when they receive care in their own home. Often having a loved one with dementia is very stressful and demanding on the family, but we can provide you staff who have the knowledge and skills to put your concerns at ease.

We work with the needs of the client, by carrying out a detailed needs assessment ensuring that the approach we adopt is dementia friendly and meaningful to the client and the family alike.

Caring for a parent / grandparent or partner who may have dementia poses many challenges for families and caregivers.

Individuals with dementia from conditions such as Alzheimer’s and related diseases have a progressive brain disorder that makes it more difficult for them to:

  • remember things,
  • think clearly,
  • communicate with others,
  • and take care of themselves.

In addition, dementia can cause mood swings and even change a person’s personality and behaviour, often resulting in pressure and or stress on family members, who they themselves need support in looking after the individual.

At ASK Care we have staff who are trained to deal with dementia clients, these staff members have a vast amount of experience and have undergone various training’s to learn how to deal with clients who have dementia.

Whether the care required is for a few calls a day or a few hours, in order to provide the individual with the care they need and the break for the family member, who may be the primary carer.

End of life care

This is a bespoke service offered to clients with specifically trained staff who have the experience with working with clients whose terminal illness is progressive, has advanced or whether their condition is incurable. We work with the NHS CCG and hospital teams to provide end of life care to clients who wish to spend their last few days or months in their own home and our staff focus on ensuring that the quality of life is maintained for the client and their families during this time and providing dignity to the client.

We have extensive experience of providing clients with end of life care post hospital discharge.

At ASK Care we have staff who are trained to facilitate the level of care required for end-of -life clients, enabling them to choose to be in their own homes, surrounded by friends and family towards the end their life. Mostly individuals with terminal illnesses who wish to pass their time whilst in their own home  are given then care known as palliative or end-of-life.

At ASK Care we are able to arrange for an assessment on an emergency basis  and discuss specific care requirements to implement care within a few hours if required.

A trained member of staff will be introduced to support the individual with a range of tasks, which during this time often is very stressful to handle whist ensuring the individual is not distressed and as comfortable as much as possible whilst in their own home.

I was recommended this care provider after some frustrating experiences with other agencies. Very importantly, they were always punctual! Also, very good value! Fantastic! And my sons loved all the carers and missed them when they left!
